FAWEZI has recently partnered up with radio host Ruvheneko Parienyatwa to provide sanitary ware for five high school girls and bursary support for one girl as they continue their education.
On July 7th FAWEZI representatives Nqobile Nkiwane and Jasmine Shirey went to Mabvuku High School with Ruvheneko Parienyatwa where they met with a teacher, Agness Masaza, the students themselves, and their guardians. Ms. Parienyatwa spoke at length with the girls and their guardians about the importance of education for girls and of believing in themselves. She reminded them that “being an orphan does not define who you are”, assured them that they “have a big sister or a mother in me”, and that she wasn’t going anywhere. FAWEZI and Ruvheneko Parienyatwa will be meeting with the girls on a three-month basis to check in with them and supply them with the sanitary ware.
