FAWEZI recognizes the commendable improvement in addressing girls’ education in Zimbabwe, but the work isn't finished yet. Appropriate education policies are key for effective gender transformation in education systems, therefore FAWEZI works to influence education policy in favor of increasing access, improving retention and enhancing performance of girls in school. This includes influencing governments and other partners to review existing educational policies and to adopt strategies to achieve greater and better participation of girls in education. FAWEZI seeks to influence national education policies’ review and plans for greater gender-responsiveness in the following ways:
• Engaging in policy dialogue such as ministerial consultations;
• Monitoring the progress of Education for All (EFA), Millennium Development Goals and other national objectives through membership forums;
• Developing strategic partnerships with government, civil society organisations, networks and education coalitions to reinforce the girls’ education campaign.
