Previously, Spiwe’s husband struggled to assist her with household chores such as fetching water for the house, tilling the land, and managing finances. However, everything changed when Spiwe became a SASA! Together Champion.

Witnessing the positive impact of SASA Together on Spiwe’s Husband, they now work together as a team in making important decisions. This newfound unity was evident when they sold their tobacco crop harvest. To Spiwe’s astonishment, her husband entrusted her with devising plans for the money they earned.

With their shared vision, they embarked on an incredible project. After their previous house was destroyed during the rainy season, Spiwe and her husband are now building a brand-new home. Their determination and resilience serve as an inspiration to the entire community.

Spiwe’s husband has become a shining example of a role model within the community. The headman often cites him as a prime example of a husband who actively collaborates with his wife. In fact, he is frequently called upon to resolve marital issues and cases of gender-based violence. As a result, more men in the community are embracing positive change and adopting similar attitudes toward working together with their partners.
