Through support from FAWE under the FAWE Alumni Grant 2014, FAWEZI partnered with the Girl Guide Association of Zimbabwe to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child. This was in line with alumni advocacy strategy. The theme for 2014 was “Empowering adolescent girls: Ending the cycle of violence”. The event was held at the Ian Munroe Girl Guides Centre. The major activities included dancing, drama, first aid lessons, information sharing, poetry and singing competitions. MEMBERS OF THE FAWEZI ALUMNI NETWORK The participants to the event were: Warren Park 2 & 6, Cold Comfort, Mother Touch, Kuwadzana 2, District Education Officer Warren Park, Mrs I. Gweme, 3 members of the FAWEZI Secretarait, 5 alumni members, and Mrs Fungisayi Mashavave (prominent musician).
