BACKGROUND TO FAWEZI
The Forum for African Women Educationalists Zimbabwe (FAWEZI) is a membership-based organisation that was launched in March 1998 and registered as a welfare organisation in terms of subsection (5) of section 9 of the Welfare Organisations (Chapter 93) in 1999, Registration No: W/O: PVO: 11/99. FAWEZI registered as a Private Voluntary Organisation in terms of subsection (5) of section 9 of the Private Voluntary Organisation Act (Chapter 17:05), Registration No. PVO 150/23 in 2024. FAWEZI is one of the 34 National Chapters in Africa affiliated with the FAWE Africa network. FAWE is a Pan-African non-governmental organization founded in 1992 and based in Nairobi, Kenya. FAWEZI is a Private Voluntary Organization.
FAWEZI envisions an inclusive Zimbabwe where gender disparities are eliminated, and girls and women are holistically empowered for socio-economic transformation with the motto, “Change through Equitable and Quality Education.”

Programme Officer

Reports to: Programme Manager
Overall Duties
The Programme Officer is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of FAWEZI programmes and projects. The Programme Officer plays a crucial role in driving FAWEZI’s mission to advance education and promote inclusion in Zimbabwe.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Implementation: Support the development and implementation of program plans, including setting goals, objectives, and timelines.
Grant Management: Assist with grant management, including reviewing proposals, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
Partner and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders, and communities to support program implementation.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of programmes, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit program reports, including progress reports, donor reports, and other documentation.
Budgeting and Financial Management: Assist with program budgeting and financial management, including tracking expenses and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Qualifications, skills and experience required
A Degree in a relevant field, such as Social Sciences, Social Work, Education, Gender, Programme Management, and business administration.
Minimum 3-5 Years of Experience: Proven experience in programme management, grant management, or a related field.
The candidate should have the ability to plan, implement, and monitor programmes and projects, ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including partners, donors, and communities.
The candidate should have the ability to analyse data, identify problems, develop creative solutions, and have the capacity to work in a dynamic environment, prioritising multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
The Candidate should have an understanding of the Zimbabwean Education Sector (schools, universities, and polytechnics), particularly higher and tertiary education.
The candidate should also have the ability to resource mobilise.
