Out of School Girls Project
FAWEZI is implementing the second phase of an advocacy project to promote Second Chance Education for out of school girls in Binga District.
On February 18 2015 FAWEZI held a project start-up workshop which brought together 16 representatives from: Binga Rural District, District Lifelong Coordinators, District Administrator, and representatives of Non Governmenta organisations, School Heads from Chinonge Secondary School, Lusulu High School, Chibila and Chipalae Primary School and other Local Representatives. The aim of the workshop was to share the activities of the project and to gather strategies from stakeholders to improve the project impact.
In the past, Zimbabwe had no national policy on Non Formal Education in Zimbabwe. However it is gratifying to note that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education launched the National Non-Formal Education Policy for Zimbabwe on the 29 of February 2015. The agenda of the policy is to promote alternative pathways to increase access and quality education in Zimbabwe. The Non Formal Education Policy provides a higher degree of flexibility for learners who want to access education out of the formal system
