It was a full house on 11 October for the launch of FAWEZI’s project addressing school-related gender-based violence. We launched this project – “School-Related Gender-Based Violence – Whole School Approach – Pilot Initiative” – with community members, project schools, ministry officials, learners, and other stakeholders. This project is a joint effort between FAWEZI, The UN Girls Education Initiative (funding partner), and Miske Witt & Associates International (Research Partner). The objectives of this project are threefold:  

• Implement the Whole School Approach (WSA) to ensure the safety of learners in schools
• Help schools foster better responses to, and prevention of, all forms of violence in schools
• Contribute to a decline in SRGBV over time

The launch was aligned to the International Day of the Girl Child and #IDGC2019 which also occurred on 11 October of this year.
