FAWEZI Orients National Coordination Committee to Advance Inclusive Education Under FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Phase II Programme
FAWEZI convened the National Coordination Committee Orientation to strengthen coordination and oversight of the FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Phase II Programme, promoting inclusive education, STEM, TVET, entrepreneurship, and leadership opportunities for girls and young women in Zimbabwe.
Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development; Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education; Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare; and Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, alongside the Commissioner of Refugees Office, the Department of Disability Affairs, the Tertiary Education Services Council, safeguarding specialists, alumni and parent representatives, and civil society partners.
The orientation equipped Committee members with a comprehensive understanding of the programme’s background, governance framework, safeguarding priorities, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) systems, coordination mechanisms, and their respective roles in supporting effective implementation.
Through establishing a shared vision and clear operational structures, the meeting lays a firm foundation for strategic oversight, informed participation, and collaborative action to expand inclusive pathways in education. Through the programme, FAWEZI and its partners will continue to advance access to STEM, TVET, entrepreneurship, and leadership opportunities.
