FAWEZI Amplifies Digital Safety for Girls through the Keep Them Safe Campaign
The Forum for African Women Educationalists in Zimbabwe (FAWEZI), actively participated in the Keep Them Safe Campaign 2025, a continental initiative addressing digital violence against girls during the 16 Days of Activism.
The campaign, implemented across 34 FAWE chapters, leveraged FAWEZI’s platforms to raise awareness, mobilise youth and alumni voices, and advocate for safe online spaces where girls can learn, innovate, and lead without fear of harassment, cyberbullying, or exploitation.
Through daily social media postings, FAWEZI amplified key messages emphasizing that “Their safety online and offline is our responsibility.”
The campaign featured:
Daily awareness posters and carousel content highlighting digital violence and its impact on girls’ education and leadership Resource mobilisation posts to encourage stakeholders, youth, and communities to engage with the campaign and support protective initiatives
The campaign harnessed digital spaces to ensure that advocacy, accountability, and action reached communities across Zimbabwe and beyond.
Through these interventions, FAWEZI reinforced its commitment to ending digital violence, empowering youth and alumni as leaders and advocates, and ensuring that girls can safely access educational, leadership, and innovation opportunities in digital and physical spaces.
The Keep Them Safe Campaign 2025 demonstrates FAWEZI’s strategic use of digital advocacy, mobilisation, and resource mobilisation to advance the safety, rights, and empowerment of girls in Zimbabwe.
