FAWEZI Participates in FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Phase II Annual Review and Planning Meeting in Dakar
The Forum for African Women Educationalists in Zimbabwe (FAWEZI) Secretariat joined representatives from 10 FAWE National Chapters including FAWE Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, Ghana, Liberia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Senegal alongside the FAWE Africa Secretariat, for the FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Phase II, Year II Annual Review and Planning Meeting held in Dakar, Senegal.
The meeting brought together national and regional leadership, including the FAWE Africa Executive Director, Dr Martha Muhwezi, as well as teams from the Nairobi office and the West and Central Africa Sub-Regional Office (WASRO). The convening provided a strategic platform to review Year II implementation progress, share cross-country learning, and align priorities and plans to strengthen programme delivery and impact across the network.
Through collaborative reflection and forward-looking planning, participants reinforced a shared commitment to advancing girls’ education, gender equality, and skills development across Africa under the FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Phase II Programme. The engagement also strengthened coordination among national chapters and the FAWE Africa Secretariat, fostering collective accountability and knowledge exchange.
The meeting further set the stage for the official launch of the FAWE Senegal Strategic Plan (2024–2028), marking an important milestone in strengthening national chapter leadership and strategic alignment within the FAWE network.
FAWEZI reaffirms its commitment to regional collaboration, peer learning, and collective action to accelerate progress towards inclusive, equitable, and transformative education outcomes for girls and young women across the continent.
